The SPCBWN Project is supported by SPCBN/UNDP and Nepal Magar Association (NMA) is implementing organization. This organization will conduct community-level “Democracy Dialogues” (“Loktantrik Sambad”) on the draft constitution in diverse range of communities. This process will inform the general public about the draft constitution, as well as collect feedbacks and submissions for the Constituent Assembly. This project will be implemented in all VDCs of 11 districts in Western Development Region. All the targeted project locations are rural, hill and mountain area and mostly information channels are local FM radios, which are also often missed by the rural and remote farmers, and on an average, they fall under low human development indicators and mostly they are engage in solving their own daily needs. Indigenous, Dalits, women, excluded, marginalized and other vulnerable groups in Through this project is targeted to focus a total VDCs and Municipalities of 11 districts targeting a total Population. The project will target the bottom-level district unit like as VDC and its villages to facilitate the grass-root people in order to collect their submissions for reviewing draft constitution. Due to cause of limited resources we will be formulate a cluster of 4 joining VDC in Hill and 2 joining VDCs in mountain districts for the help of facilitation and influential person, civil society member, leader local different political parties, community leader and general people will be invited from individual VDC in the VDC level democracy dialogue program. This VDC level democracy dialogue will be facilitated by two trained facilitators and one is ensured a female facilitator. The CA member of related constituency will be requested to participate in all programs. After the completion of the VDC level democracy dialogue an constituency level democracy dialogue program will be organized to debate and the dialogue on concerned issues and recommendation of the particular constituency. This program will be participate to CA member of related constituency. Transportation facilities will be provided to women, disable and old age people to participate in the constituency level dialogue program centre. Public announcement and personal invitation by letter will be made with using local tools and technique. At the last, a national level program we will be submission of final recommendation and participate. Including the media mobilization through local FM radio and fortnightly newsletter will be publication and if possible we will be organized press meet after conducting the constituency level democracy dialogue program. Progress will be made by accomplishing following results:
Objectives · IR I: Improved people's knowledge on constitution making process and ensure inclusive participation of citizens in the construction of draft constitution. · IR 2: Enhanced opportunities for dialogue between CA Members and their constituencies. · IR 3: Strengthened civil society outreach capacity by which recommendations are reviewed by the CA |
